We teach archery lessons through the summer months throughout the city from May to September in Blue Springs, Lees Summit, Platte City, Independence, and Shawnee Mission Park!          

We have taught archery lessons through the summer months for 2013 at Shawnee Mission Park in the archery area near the off-leash dog park area on Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

We are just beginning a new group archery lesson session this week, which will run for four weeks.  We will have both a basic class (learning the basics of the equipment and mechanics of how to shoot) and an intermediate class (learning a little more advanced setup of equipment and mechanics of how to shoot with the additional equipment).

You only need to bring yourself to the lessons, we provide the equipment.  If you already have equipment, wait until the third lesson to bring out your equipment and we will help you tweak that. 

However, we prefer that you not buy equipment ahead of your first class so that we can start with a “blank slate,” so to speak. 

Shawnee Mission Park requires a permit for anyone shooting archery equipment at the archery range, age 13-15, and age 16-Adult.  These permits can be purchased at the park office or at the Olathe Bass Pro or Dicks Sporting Goods.  These are annual permits.  Any youth 12 and under are covered under our permit while we are teaching lessons at the park on Thursday evening this year, however, if you wish to bring your kids out to the range to shoot their own equipment at a different time than we are there, one adult in your family must also have a permit.

If Shawnee Mission Park isn’t local to you, we teach archery lessons in other locations too.  We just need a minimum of 3 participants (maximum of 10 participants) to cover our travel to get to you and back home.

We don’t teach archery lessons during the winter months unless you have an indoor location (a church gymnasium, a community gymnasium, lighted and heated outbuilding or barn, etc.).  We still work our day jobs, so our archery lessons have to wait for the evening hours during the week, usually after 6 pm… and we lose daylight too fast after the middle of September.  It gets too cold for the targets and the shooters after that point usually as well.

We have equipment to teach archery to all ages from age 2 to adult… all we need is you!!
